CHICAGO (AP) -- Alana Beard had 25 points and seven rebounds, and the Washington Mystics rallied from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Chicago Sky 77-73 Saturday night.
Monique Currie scored 16 points, DeLisha Milton-Jones added 12 and Nikki Teasley 10 for Washington (6-12), which won for the fourth time in six games.
Candice Dupree had 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Sky (8-9), who have lost six of eight at home. Chasity Melvin added 18 points and nine rebounds, and Stacey Dales and Jia Perkins scored 10 points apiece.
Chicago cut the Mystics' lead to two twice in the last 12 seconds but each time Beard answered with two free throws extend Washington's lead back to four.
Melvin became the 19th player in league history to top 3,000 points for her career, reaching the milestone with a layup midway through the third quarter.
Silver Stars 80, Storm 73
SAN ANTONIO -- Erin Buescher scored 11 of her career-high 27 points in the fourth quarter to help San Antonio hold off Seattle.
Helen Darling and Sophia Young had 11 points apiece and Vickie Johnson added 10 for San Antonio (11-6), which has won three straight and seven of its last nine.
Tanisha Wright scored a career-high 23 points and Lauren Jackson had 15 points and 13 rebounds as Seattle (10-8) snapped a three-game winning streak. Rookie Katie Gearlds had 11 points, and Betty Lennox and Iziane Castro Marques added 10 each.
Both teams played without their All-Star guards. San Antonio's Becky Hammon missed her third straight game due to a sprained left foot, and Seattle was without Sue Bird for the second consecutive night after she had surgery on her left knee on Friday.
San Antonio opened the third quarter with a 10-4 run that pushed its lead to 52-29 on Darling's 3-pointer with 6:31 left.
Wright hit a 3 with 7:10 left to cut the deficit to seven, and then made a layup with 2:47 left to pull the Storm to 70-65. However, Buescher hit a 3 29 seconds later and the Silver Stars went 6-for-8 from the line in the final minute to seal the win.
Sun 110, Sparks 89
LOS ANGELES -- Katie Douglas scored 28 points and Evanthia Maltsi had a career-high 23 to lead Connecticut.
Asjha Jones added 21 points, and Lindsey Whalen had 17 points and eight assists for the Sun (7-11), who set single-game team records for points and shooting -- 63.9 percent (39-for-61).
Sidney Spencer had 15 points and six rebounds for the Sparks (7-11), who lost their franchise record-tying fifth straight and ninth in the last 11. Sherill Baker and Christi Thomas added 13 points apiece.
The Sun shot 12-for-19 in the first quarter and set a club record with 35 points.
The Sparks used a 15-2 surge to pull to 67-60 with 3:09 left in the third. However, Margo Dydek had four points during a 10-0 spree that pushed the Sun's lead to 17 with 27 seconds left in the quarter.
